Awaken · Exento AI
Privacy Policy
LAST UPDATED: OCTOBER 3, 2026
1. Introduction
Exento AI (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates the Awaken mobile application on iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use Awaken. By using the app, you agree to this policy.
Awaken is a fitness training log and coaching aid. It is not medical advice.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum needed to run your training:
- Account identifier. Awaken uses anonymous sign-in. We do not require your name or email to train. If you later set a display name, nickname, or hunter bio, we store those.
- Onboarding profile. Age, sex, height, weight, training experience, location (gym vs home), equipment, habits, limitations, supplements, session length, and goal physique. Used to build your weekly plan and calorie targets.
- Training data. Weekly plans, workout logs (sets, reps, load), rest days, streak, XP, ranks, and badges.
- Physique photos (optional). If you take or upload a body scan, and only after you tap Allow in the app, the image is uploaded to our servers and sent to OpenAI to generate a private rank report (including estimated body-fat range and muscle notes). Photos are stored so you can review history. Physique scans are never shown on the public hunter board. If you tap Don’t Allow, the photo is not uploaded and is not sent to OpenAI.
- Profile photo (optional). A separate avatar you choose for the leaderboard. This is not your scan photo.
- Public hunter card. Nickname, optional avatar, XP, streak, and rank may be visible to other Awaken users on the board. Workouts, body stats, and scan photos are not.
- Device data. App version, crash/performance signals, and (if analytics is enabled) coarse usage events such as screens viewed and feature taps. We do not sell this.
- Support mail. If you email us, we see the address and message you send.
- Launch list. If you leave your email on the website before Awaken is on the stores, we keep that address only to send you the download link when the app launches. Email us and we will delete it.
3. How We Use Information
- Create and restore your anonymous session on this device
- Generate weekly training plans and physique reports with OpenAI, only after you tap Allow in the app
- Log workouts, streaks, XP, and badges
- Unlock Awaken Premium according to your App Store or Google Play subscription
- Send optional local reminders you enable in the app (workout, streak, weekly plan)
- Operate the hunter board
- Diagnose bugs and improve the product
- Email the store link to people who asked to be notified when Awaken launches
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use physique photos for advertising.
4. Permissions
- Camera / photo library. Only to capture or pick a physique scan or profile photo. You can skip the body scan and still train. Camera access is separate from permission to send a photo to OpenAI. Awaken asks for that sharing permission in the app before any photo or profile is transmitted.
- Notifications. Optional. Used for reminders you turn on. We do not send marketing push from a third-party ESP as a condition of using Awaken.
5. Third-Party Services
Before Awaken sends personal data to OpenAI, the app tells you what is sent, names OpenAI as the recipient, and asks you to tap Allow. Nothing is sent to OpenAI if you tap Don’t Allow. In that case Awaken does not generate an AI physique report or an AI weekly plan.
What is sent to OpenAI, only after you allow it:
- Your physique photo, if you take or choose one
- Profile you entered: age range, sex, height, weight, goals, training experience, schedule, equipment, limitations, sleep, steps, and supplements
- Notes from an earlier physique report, when you do a check-in
- Workout logs (exercises, sets, reps, and loads) when a later training week is built
OpenAI (openai.com) uses that data to generate your physique report and weekly training plan. OpenAI provides the same or equal protection of this data. OpenAI’s API terms say inputs are not used to train their models. We do not sell this data, and we do not use physique photos for advertising. See OpenAI’s privacy policy.
These processors help us run Awaken. They receive only what is needed for their role:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage (including scan and avatar images, after you allow a scan).
- OpenAI — physique photo analysis and weekly plan generation, only after you tap Allow. Scan images, the profile fields listed above, and workout logs are sent for that purpose. OpenAI provides the same or equal protection of this data.
- RevenueCat — subscription status. We never see your full card number.
- Apple App Store and Google Play — payment processing and restore purchases.
- PostHog — product analytics when configured. Events are usage signals, not your workout numbers or photos.
6. Payments
Premium is billed by Apple or Google, not by a card form inside Awaken. We receive subscription status (active / expired / product) through RevenueCat so access matches what you paid for. Cancel in your Apple or Google account. Deleting Awaken data does not cancel the store subscription.
7. Children's Privacy
Awaken is not directed at children under 13. We ask age during onboarding. Users under 13 cannot upload a physique photo; they may only use a questionnaire-based plan. We do not knowingly collect physique images from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted a photo or other personal data, email exento.ai@gmail.com and we will delete it.
8. Data Storage, Security, and Retention
Training data and files are stored with Supabase, with access limited to your account (row-level security). We keep data while your account exists so your plan, logs, and scans can load on this device. Some progress also lives locally on the phone.
If you delete the app without deleting the account, cloud data may remain attached to the old anonymous ID and will not automatically appear on a new install. Restore purchases only restores membership, not training history, until we add a real login.
9. Your Rights
In-app: Settings → Delete account removes plans, logs, scans, streak, XP, and local progress we hold for that account.
EU / UK (GDPR): you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of personal data we hold.
California (CCPA/CPRA): you may request to know or delete personal data. We do not sell personal data.
Email exento.ai@gmail.com to exercise these rights.
10. International Users
Servers may be located outside your country (including the United States). By using Awaken you understand your information may be processed in those locations with safeguards appropriate to the service providers above.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes may also be noted in the app.
